Antioxidants are generally used in order to fight from free radicals to maintain health by usage of adequate amount of supplements for the body. The advertisements and trailers today, showcase ample antioxidants, but do not give a clear hint on what to use and when. The earnest factor here is to maintain a balance between both free radicals and antioxidants. If the free radicals are more than natural anti-oxidant, then it is time you start becoming cautious, because the free radicals are those substances that fasten the oxidation process of the body, thereby making it vulnerable to some serious ailments. Also, it is a known fact that oxidation is the prime culprit for aging and cancer.
There are two sources of antioxidants; the first is from your own body and the second in from the food that you eat daily. Research has found that free radicals are generated mainly when a person is put under high pressure due to the high intake of Hg and Cd elements or exposing to radiation of sun or on inhalation of vehicle smoke and cigar. If the above listed criterion is what you go through habitually, then its time you get serious about your health. In fact, in this modern era, it is a surprise if a common man is not subjected to these elements at all. Implementing antioxidant food sources in your day-to-day diet would help you in restoring your health.
Vitamin C, Vitamin A and Vitamin E, which are mostly available in fruits and green vegetables, serve as the best supplements to fight the free radicals. Consumption of natural products would prove to be beneficial rather than going for pharmaceutical supplements. Some of the common fruits rich in Vitamin C are orange, lemon, mango, pineapple and guava. Similarly, Vitamin E foods include wheat, brown rice and olive oil, while for Vitamin A, carrots, spinach, sweet potato and cantaloupe form a nice hub for antioxidant content. Good amount of antioxidants in the body will help us fight from diseases connected with cancer, heart disease, Parkinson’s disease etc., which were grave problems faced only by the aged, but have now turned out to be prevalent amongst the middle aged pupil as well.
The antioxidant molecules help the free radicals to stabilize by sacrificing a piece of its molecule to the free radical. This way, the free radicals become stable and cause no further damage to your body. Since, free radicals can be formed simply from simple and daily metabolic activities, it is necessary to consume a balanced quantity of antioxidant rich food or natural supplements as well. It is recommended to consult a doctor or approach a nutritionist to find out more antioxidant foods and in what proportion can they be taken on a systematic basis. Also, some people have the tendency to mix multivitamins with antioxidant supplements. Such people cannot avoid or neglect to ask their physician on the right amount and prescribed dosage of each supplement to attain balanced benefits from either of them.
